News: Revised criteria for 4 product groups approved at the June meeting of the EU Ecolabel Regulatory Committee
The revised criteria for copying & graphic paper, newsprint, tissue paper and lubricants were approved at a meeting of the EU Ecolabel Regulatory Committee on 29th June 2018.

After a rigorous process of evidence gathering and consultation with interested stakeholders including 2 working group meetings, the revised criteria for paper products (copying & graphic paper, tissue paper, newsprint) and lubricants were approved at a meeting of the Regulatory Committee of the EU Ecolabelling Board (EUEB) held on 29th June 2016 in Brussels. The Regulatory Committee comprises representatives of the national governments of the EU.
The four sets of criteria (incorporated in two draft decisions - 1 for paper products and 1 for lubricants) will now go forward to the Council of the European Union for adoption. Once criteria are adopted they are published as Commission Decisions in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU). It is at this point they become available for companies to apply against.

Revised EU Ecolabel criteria for Lubricants published
The revised criteria for Lubricants were adopted on 8th November 2018 as Commission Decision (EU) 2018/1702 and published in the EU's Official Journal on 13th November 2018.
Revised criteria for Graphic paper, Tissue paper & Tissue products published
The revised criteria for Graphic paper, Tissue paper and Tissue products were adopted on 11th January 2019 as Commission Decision (EU) 2019/70 and published in the EU's Official Journal on 17th January 2019.
Criteria for Printed Paper, Bed Mattresses, Absorbent Hygiene Products and Rinse-off Cosmetics extended
Commission Decision(EU) 2018/1590 has prolonged the validity period of EU Ecolabel criteria for printed paper, bed mattresses, absorbent hygiene products and rinse-off cosmetic products.
